The Investigators [Game]

The Investigators is a free game by Minecraft for Education to improve information literacy skills.

Summary:

Through three scenarios, players will play the role of investigative journalists and deepen their information literacy skills, as they uncover mysteries, spot untrustworthy information and learn when to share trustworthy information or not share information they cannot trust or validate.

Essential Question: In a world shaped by information, bias, and persuasion, how can we ensure the accuracy and authenticity of our knowledge to make informed decisions for our communities and society at large?

The Investigators targets an audience from ages 8 – 18.

The game creators have also developed supplemental lessons plans with non-profit Digital Inquiry Group.  Supporting educational resources available with the game include: Follow Up Resources, Educator Guide, Information Literacy Presentation Slides, Formative Assessments and more.

The game is free to play, but does require downloading Minecraft if not already installed.
